Ben Sanchez and Ryan Arp provide the Westland Properties Group with state of the art mapping and spatial analysis. Ryan Arp has created enterprise level GIS systems through his outside consulting efforts; incorporating data and imagery from various sources.

A GIS system is worthless without professional data analysis to accompany it. Our Land Research Department works directly with the Westland Properties Group brokers to coordinate accurate data analysis. The methods we use are leading edge in the land brokerage business.

Ben Sanchez

Land Research/GIS

As Head of the Land Research Department for the Westland Properties Group, Ben is responsible for creating and maintaining a proprietary database of land ownership information and site specific data used daily by the entire Westland Properties Group team and our clients. Ben’s extensive background in GIS, data analysis and research is put to the test in an ever-changing marketplace. Ben’s 7+ years of experience in research & statistical analysis at the State of Arizona | Department of Health Services serves him well as head of the Westland Properties Group’s Land Research Department. Ben is ESRI-certified with 10+ years of GIS application experience. Ben has been with the Westland Properties Group since 2002.

Candice Parkhurst

Executive Assistant

Candice is the Executive Assistant for the Westland Properties Group. Candice brings 10 years of experience from the Real Estate and Banking industries with a diverse background in Marketing, Sales and Customer Service. Candice provides support to the Brokers and sets an example of professionalism, dedication and a positive work ethic here at the Westland Properties Group.

The Westland Properties Group uses the professional housing consulting services of Trish O’Neill of RE-Source Consulting. Trish provides the Westland Properties Group and our clients with current new home and existing home evaluations by submarket. This analysis is done by providing Competitive Homebuilder Inventory & Absorption Reports for residential subdivisions throughout the metropolitan Phoenix marketplace.

Debt Structure Analyst / Land Research Internship Program

The Westland Properties Group has a tradition of training summer interns through their relationship with Arizona State University. Analysis of debt structure is crucial in keeping the sales force up to date with the most current debt information in the Greater Phoenix marketplace. Data on platted/engineered lots, finished lots and infill projects are streamed from in-house and proprietary data sources and are evaluated by our analysts to locate opportunities that are congruent with the needs of our select clients.

Summer 2011 Interns

Sean Gormley | Debt Structure / Land Research Intern | Sean researches agricultural land, raw land, platted & engineered lots and single-family residential lots in both Maricopa and Pinal Counties and maintains a database of these land listings. Sean is an upcoming sophomore at Arizona State University majoring in Finance.

Shaun Perfect | GIS Intern | Shaun researches residential lots to maintain a comprehensive series of ownership geodatabases for developed lots in Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Shaun is a recent graduate at Arizona State University with a major in Geography (Urban Studies), minor in Urban Planning, and certification in GIS and has future plans to obtain an Urban and Environmental Planning Masters Degree.

Fall 2010 Intern

Lindsey Johnson researches raw land, platted and engineered lots and finished lots in the Greater Phoenix marketplace. Lindsey maintains an up to date comprehensive database of all current land projects. Lindsay tracks foreclosure information and trustee sales for all major bank owned land holdings in the Maricopa and Pinal County markets. Lindsey also assists in analyzing debt research and has developed new analytic tools for the Westland Properties Group brokers. Lindsey is currently a senior at Arizona State University majoring in Accounting

Summer 2010 Interns

Aaron Baker maintains a comprehensive database of foreclosed residential properties in the Maricopa County marketplace. Aaron is a sophomore at Arizona State University majoring in Economics and Mathematics.

Mel Begley a comprehensive database of single family residential lots and agricultural land within the Pinal County marketplace. Mel is a Sophomore at Harvard University, where he is majoring in Philosophy and Economics.

Dan Tram researches the debt structure of raw land, platted & engineered lots and finished lots for the Pinal County marketplace. Dan creates executive summaries for the brokers and he assisted in developing a model to calculate the net present value of investor-owned projects. Dan is Junior at Barrett, which is The Honors College at Arizona State University, with a dual concentration in Finance and Economics.

Fall 2009 / Winter 2010 Intern

Jeni Chen is the Debt Structure Analyst / Land Research Intern for Fall 2009 / Spring 2010 semester at the Westland Properties Group. Jeni researches raw land, platted & engineered and finished lots in the Greater Phoenix Marketplace. Jeni is also responsible for updating and tracking our foreclosed lots and land database. Jeni updates existing ownership databases to obtain the most up-to date information on current projects. Jeni is a sophomore at Arizona State University and is majoring in Finance with a minor in International Business.

Summer 2009 Interns

Brittany Justus assists in debt research by analyzing different in-house and proprietary databases to help establish the most up-to date information on the current SFR-project marketplace. Brittany has just finished her junior year at Arizona State University and is majoring in Engineering with an emphasis in Business.

John Kim Nguyen assists in land ownership and financing research. He brings his knowledge of mathematics and programming to analyze comparable, inventory and financing information to produce useful, efficient info graphics for consumption by the clientele of the Westland Properties Group. John is an upcoming sophomore at Arizona State University, with a dual concentration in Mathematics and Economics.

Megan Behrens researches debt structure of raw land, platted and engineered and finished lot projects in the Greater Phoenix marketplace. Megan also works with the other analysts in creating executive summaries for the brokers. Megan finished her second year at Boston University and is majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics.
